Dear
Reader

All my writing pieces are a reflection of who I am  and who I want to be. For example,  my inspiration for majority of pieces comes form my personal life and experiences. One example is my freshman expectations journal because it  expresses my thoughts and feelings about my highschool. While writing this journal, I truly  thought about how highschool so far has impacted me , and compared it to what I thought it would be. Put differently, I put in an exorbitant amount of effort into the pieces I write. Furthermore, this year I learned that as a writer I can create interesting pieces of work if I put forth my best effort. For example,  the homework assignments that I concentrated on were written better than assignments that I put little to no effort in.  In other words, when I am diligent and focus my writings  tend to be written well. In brief, writing reflects my character and I learn more about myself as a writer as I mature.

Like many writers I have  a number of strengths as well as weaknesses. My main weakness this year would have to be with grammer and punctiation. For example, in the beginning of the year I  would put commas in the wrong places , and my writings did not flow nicely. It gave me great difficulty when writing formal papers because my essays would sound choppy .However, as the school progressed I learned more about  how to phrase sentences , punctuate better , and other grammer rules. Put differently, I learned this year how to write more smoothly and properly apply the rules of grammer into my writings.  Although I had several weaknesses, I had  many strengths as well.  For example, I was excellent at developing and creating imagery when writing  poetry , and other creative writings. During the poetry unit I was able to successfuly write well written pieces of poetry because I could be creative, since poetry has no boundaries unlike formal writing.  In short, I am a writer with flaws as well as strengths.

Furthermore, at the beginning of the school I have set many goals to achieve , so that I could become a better writer. One of the goals I had was to continue to inlcude  myriad details within my writings because that is when I produce my best pieces of work. For example, the research paper was one of my favorite pieces of writings because I included an exorbitant amount of facts and informations about genetically modified foods, and recieved a good grade on that paper.  In other words, when I incoporate a lot of facts and knowledge into my writing it is usally written better. Moreover one of the thinks I liked most about my papers was that I consisently  explained my thoughts and opinions about the topic I ad to write about. In other words, I believe I gave excellent and thorough explanations for points that I stated thorughout my essays and papers. For example, in my research essay I effectively explained why certain groups of people had different opinons about the consumption of genetically modified foods. In other words,  writing clear explanations was one aspect of my writing that I did well.

Even though my personal life is an inspiration for my writing, well-known authors have also inspired me to write many of these writing pieces this year. For example, Suzanne Collines has inspired me to be more creative and imaginative with my writing.  She was able to effecively capture the attention of millions of readers across America  because of her use of imagery  and other forms of figurative writing. The popular Hunger Games trilogy has impacted my thinking of poetry and other creative writings. For example, while writing my   My Life is a Cook Book poem I decided to use more of my imagination  to make it more interesting and intriguing. All in all ,  authors and writers in general have gave me inspiration that has changed and influenced my writing.
