For my argument piece I chose my literary analysis essay because I put a great deal of thought and dedication into choosing a topic to analyze from the novel A Thousand Splendid Suns. In my literary analysis essay I explained thoroughly how the author expressed the importance of pain and endurance through the main characters Mariam and Laila.
For my point of view piece I chose to write from the perspective of my mom because she gave me sound advice , comfort, and love throughout the year. She helped to keep me calm and relaxed during stressful periods of the year ,and I felt she's one of the few people who truly understands who I am.
Writer's
Choice
For my writer's choice I chose my admissions essay into the Health Science's Academy at Bayside because I feel it is signifies the beginning of my high school writing and displays my desire to be a health care professional. I included this in my portfolio to show how much I progressed from 8th grade to my senior year of high school.
For my commentary I had an old family friend give an honest opinion about my portfolio because I trust her judgement and value her perspective.
For my reflection I wrote about how my teacher Mrs.Manugo and my peers helped me to develop as a writer by offering valuable constructive criticism as well as positive feedback.
