My time in English 112 has definitely given me the opportunity grow and develop my writing and communication skills. Through the guidance and direction of my English teacher Mrs. Manugo, I learned more about important rhetorical strategies, research processes, and writing processes. All these aspects of language and literature are like pieces of scrapbook because they are all important but different parts of writing, however, when  all these aspects are put together they create a beautiful masterpiece. Indeed, like creating a scrapbook, it takes time to find the right pieces to put into making the final product. In my case, the final product or scrapbook I is my English 112 portfolio, which displays the different writing aspects or “scraps” I acquired throughout the semester through establishing goals, paying attention to  lessons, doing assignments, and  completing projects.
English 112 allowed me to grow as a writer with the guidance  of my teacher Mrs. Manugo and the advice of my classmates.Indeed,  the in depth discussions and intriguing lessons regarding proper argumentation have helped me to build upon my persuasive writing skills from advanced placement English writing and composition.Reading the informative book  They Say, I Say aided many of my peers and I in forming proper informed arguments without sounding antagonistic towards opposing arguments. The writing templates provided by this book gave me a baseline on how to create an argument, develop counter arguments, and transitions from one argument to another. The combination of these writing templates and Mrs. Manugo's lesson on arguments aided me in later assignments ,such as the literary analysis essay, Aristotelian essay, and the class debates, and the Hamlet trials. Moreover,My primary goal in this class was to find new ways to improve my writing and communication skills.Thankfully, I was able to achieve this goal by setting a small goal for every essay that was assigned this year based on the comments and advice of Mrs. Manugo and my classmates. In short, my growth as a writer and communicator is largely due to the feedback and support of my amazing teacher Mrs. Manugo and  classmates.
To put briefly, this year like  the previous years has proven to be one of tremendous development and growth  as  a writer. I am truly grateful for  both the difficult and easy lessons and assignments because I learned new  essential information to help improve my overall writing and communication skills. All in all, I plan to carry on these newly acquired lessons and information about writing and communicating to college and throughout the rest of my life.
